Welcome back for an overview of three more martial arts that are great for self-defense!

  1. Keysi

If you’re a Keysi fighter, then you probably wouldn’t be surprised to learn that some of the fighting techniques featured in the movie “Batman Begins” were based on this martial art. The film’s producers wanted the fighting scenes to be realistic and raw, so they used the principles of the KFM.

Although this discipline is relatively young, it has delivered the goods to its competitors. Despite its relatively young status, it still has a lot of potentials.

The origins of this discipline can be traced back to Spain. It was developed by Justo Dieguez Serrano. Although it’s commonly referred to as a martial art, Keysi is focused on self-defense. During training sessions, participants will learn how to defend themselves against chokeholds and other attackers using kicks and punches.

The goal of this discipline is to develop a harmonious relationship between the mind, body, and emotions. Although it doesn’t require a lot of muscle, participants should be in good shape to ensure that their bodies can protect themselves. Also, they should be able to control their emotions properly so that they don’t freeze in the event that they get attacked.

  1. Jeet Kune Do

During the 1960s, Bruce Lee introduced a hybrid fighting system known as Jeet Kune Do, which is a combination of traditional and modern techniques. The goal of this style is to allow practitioners to improve their skills while staying focused on their goals. The name of this discipline is derived from the saying, “Stop the attack before it happens.” This concept is designed to help practitioners intercept an attack before it happens.

During the early years of this discipline, Bruce Lee mainly focused on fencing, boxing, and Wing Chun. Over the years, this style has also been expanded to include other forms of martial arts. Some of these include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, K-9 Fighting, and various forms of martial arts such as kumite, wushu, and boxing.

  1. Wing Chun

If you’re looking for a technique that puts you on a level playing field with your opponent, then Wing Chun might be the right choice. This discipline’s principle is to end a fight as quickly as possible. Aside from having the right technique, one also needs to be able to read the body language of their opponent. This will allow them to identify their weaknesses and plan their actions.

One of the most important factors that a Wing Chun fighter should consider is the efficiency of their punches. This discipline allows them to land them as efficiently as possible while also reducing their energy usage. Another advantage of this discipline is that it allows participants to choose the appropriate response to a threat without having to think about every move.
